The cameras we re built specifically fo r this project by film maker Jo h n Do wner and his te am a t J ohn Downer Produc tions. The raw s tat s behind the production of Spy in th e Wild a re enough to make your eyes wat er. The crew cov ered 330,000 m iles travellin g to 31 locations in 21 countries, stretchi ng from the Arctic t o the Antarctic and all places in b etween. Spy in th e Wild took three year s to shoot, over 80 0 filming da ys. Th e crew captured more than 8000 hour s of mat erial, and every hour-long programme is dist illed f rom 1250 hours o f footage.
